About Dhawalagiri Technical School

Dhawalagiri Technical School (DTS), a constituent institution of Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) is established in 2051 BS (1994 AD) at Thasang Rural Municipality- 03 (Former Lete Vdc 06) Mustang. It lies at the lap of Snow-clad Mountains with spectacular view of pine forest which add its fragrance. It is on the way to pokhara – Jomsom Trekking trail, the world-famous Trekking route called Annapurna Trekking circuit from where panoramic view of mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukche peak is seen.

After its establishment, in the initial days, it just delivers the short-term trainings to the hoteliers of Annapurna trek. In the year of 2053, to upgrade the hotel services and facilities of ACAP area, it starts one-year programs of Lodge /Hotel Management and Lodge/Hotel Coking/ Baking. In the time being it again add another 15 months TSLC program in Livestock production/ management in 2056 BS. Recently. Now, it is conducting four long term courses i.e. TSLC in Hotel Management, Culinary Art, JTA- Livestock Production/Animal Health and JTA- Plant Science. All the above-mentioned courses are of 18 months.

In the sector of Vocational Trainings, it is conducting one to four weeks to three months mobile basis short term trainings related to Tourism, Veterinary, Agriculture, Construction, Heath and others sectors according to community demand.

In spite of being in rural setting, the school has hostel facility to 135 trainees (40 female and 95 male) and has own lodge called Pine forest Lodge and Restaurant having 16 comfortable rooms with 24 hours hot and cold-water supply with free WIFI service where the trainees of tourism get real experience of hotel during their training period. School is also well furnished by Cooking Lab, Restaurant Lab, Veterinary and Agriculture Lab with Separate theory class rooms for all courses, Enough Agricultural Field, library having enough reference books with e-library, well-furnished Seminar Hall having capacity of 100 candidates with quarter for all staff.

Since its establishment, the school has produced more than 1227 competent graduates in long term program and 3500 in short term Training according to school data record, and about 80% of them are employed starting their own business, domestic governmental and private organization as well as in foreign countries.

• Provide quality technical education and vocational training in rural setting to reduce unemployed youth of Nepal.

Goal/ Objectives

• To provide tourism related and agriculture related trainings to develop people and community status of Nepal.
• Reduce dependency of Youth to their parents.
• Provide refreshment trainings of one to four weeks as mobile basis related to tourism and agriculture.
• Give aid to fulfill the needs of skilled & semi-skilled human resource in the field of tourism and in Livestock Production/Animal Health and Plant Science.
• Conduct training successfully & effectively within fixed time.
• Develop community conducting mobile basis training according to their demand.
• Provide refreshment training to the employed graduates.

DTS has separate boys and girls hostels. to generate peaceful and harmonious environment in the school premises & to look after the problems of trainees, father &mother are assigned.

Admission Criteria

To fulfill the entry level requirement for admission , candidates must have meet program wise aggregate division and should pass the entrance examination conducted by CTEVT.

Entrance

One hour entrance examination will be held for comprehensive paper(English, Math, Science and Health) for TSLC Level. The questions will be of multiple choices. Candidates must pass the entrance examination and the selection will be based on the merit list in descending order.

Available Seats

Affiliated seats to CTEVT from the merit list of entrance examination will get the opportunity to get admitted to Dhawalagiri Technical School. Alternate candidates in the merit list will be given the opportunity if any of the main candidates fails to admit.
