About Islington College

Islington College is an autonomous private education institution dedicated to excellent academic performance and student experience. Established in 1996, the college has had nearly a couple of decades long experience in providing quality and industry-ready IT and Business Education to Nepalese students, making it a leading Academic Institution in Nepal.

Having grown from strength to strength, the College is now directly affiliated with UK universities. For example, the College now directly partner with London Metropolitan University (LondonMet) to deliver their Bachelor degrees in Computing; Computer Networking & IT Security and Multimedia Technologies programmes for in-country provision. Being the first and only academic institution in Nepal to run a UK university undergraduate programme, students may choose to study at both our Kathmandu Campus and LondonMet’s North London Campus.

The College also has a direct articulation agreement with the University of Northampton such that students who study various programmes in the College may proceed to Northampton for the final-year of their BSc. (Hons) Computing programme. Given its new partnerships with UK universities, as well as the appointment of senior executives who have been educated at top UK universities, the College changed its name to Islington College in mid-2011.

Admission
Entry Requirements
Bachelor's degree track
HSEB 10+2 overall aggregate of 60% and above, Year 12 English score 60% and above, and SLC Mathematics score of 50% above, or
2 ‘A’ Level passes with minimum grades A to C or 3 ‘A’ Level passes with minimum grades D and above; and General Paper (A or AS Level) or English (A or AS Level) with Grade E and above.
Applicants who do not meet the above mentioned English requirements can substitute with the following English Tests: IELTS 5.5 and above (minimum score of 5.5 in each component) or Pearson Test of English Score above 47.

Students not meeting the Entry Requirements will have to pursue iAcademy’s University Foundation Certificate (UFC). UFC is a one-year academic programme awarded by iAcademy (New Zealand) and articulated with advanced standing by London Metropolitan University (UK).

University foundation certificate entry requirements
HSEB +2 total aggregate of 45% and above, and Year 12 English score of 45% and above, or
2 ‘A’ level subject passes, and a pass in General Paper (A or AS Level) or English (A or AS Level) with Grade E and above.
Applicants who do not meet the above mentioned English requirements can substitute with the following English Tests: IELTS 4.5 and above or Pearson Test of English Score above 37.

MSC IT entry requirements
A second lower-class honors IT-related degree from any recognised university or;
IT-related degree graduates from Tribhuvan; Kathmandu; and Pokhara University with a Minimum GPA 3.0 or;

All other qualifications are evaluated on a case-to-case basis and subjected to approval by London Metropolitan University

Application

When you have decided to study a bachelor’s degree in the college, you are required to come to the college to complete the college and university’s application forms. Particularly, you must ensure that you fully understand the terms and conditions of acceptance for any degree programme, methods to pay College, University Fees and Refund Policy. The following documents must be brought along to the college admission department:

2 x recently taken passport size photos
Original copy of highest attained academic qualifications (e.g. HSEB, ‘A’ Level certificate)
Any other supporting evidence of English Language Proficiency (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English reports/certificates)
Original copy of citizenship certificate or passport
The submitted documents will be photocopied and verified as true copies against the original by the admission officials. The college reserved all rights to reject any application if the original copy of the official document is not presented at the point of application. You are also expected to pay a nominal application fee to the college for this purpose. Your academic qualifications will be immediately screened through by the college admission officials for your eligibility. If you satisfied the standard entry requirements for the bachelor’s degree, the college will be in the position to offer you a conditional acceptance offer for registering with the college.

Acceptance/Rejection

The completed application forms and documents will also be submitted to London Metropolitan University for final approval and the college will inform you within the next 3 to 5 working days of the evaluation results. If your application has been approved and accepted, you will be informed via email or phone to come to the college immediately to complete your registration. If the university are unable to approve your application, the college will inform and advise you or your guardian accordingly.

Registration

You are required to come to the college immediately to complete your registration. The college reserve all rights to reject your registration if you do not complete the registration procedure within 5 working-days upon receiving the evaluation results from the University. An official student contract will be drafted and to be acknowledged and signed between the college and you. You will then proceed to make your College Fees to the college and an invoice for the University Fees will also be issued for you to make the necessary payment.
