About Merryland College Biratnagar

Merryland College Biratnagar (MCB) is a UK University College in Biratnagar that offers higher education in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton, UK and iAcademy New Zealand & Singapore. The college was established in 2014 with the joint effort of the Innovate Nepal Group (ING) and academicians from Biratnagar.

The objective of this partnership is to make globally recognized tertiary education (Undergraduate & Postgraduate) affordable in Biratnagar and surrounding areas. In addition, the partnership is also aimed at changing the dynamics of the prevalent orthodox teaching and learning system. ING would contribute its expertise towards running UK HE qualifications, while the local stakeholders would promote and encourage the local students and students in the surrounding community to embark on the tertiary qualifications that Merryland College Biratnagar offers.

At present we offer BA (Hons) International Business Management (BBM – International Business Management) qualification from the University of Wolverhampton, UK and iAcademy, New Zealand & Singapore. MCB is able to offer these qualifications from iAcademy and the University of Wolverhampton based on a “supported-delivery” model in Biratnagar.

1. Direct & Full-time UK University Course

Merryland College Biratnagar offers direct degrees in International Business Management. The courses are entirely designed, approved and delivered by the University of Wolverhampton, in association with iAcademy, New Zealand. As this is a direct partnership, there are no credit-transfer hassles. The students can complete their entire Bachelors’s degree at Merryland College. Our students get full and complete the status of a UK undergraduate.

2. College run by the Pioneers in UK Education

Merryland College Biratnagar is being run by a team of national and international academicians who are the pioneers of UK education in Nepal. Islington College, established in 1996 was the first-ever college in Nepal to partner with the UK university and has so far produced 3500+ graduates.

The lecture-tutorial-workshop methodology of teaching, which is widely practiced in the UK, is adopted at Merryland College Biratnagar. Admission
Admission Procedure

Interested students who have completed or appeared their higher secondary final exams can directly apply to the college with their academic certificates, citizenship certificate or passport or birth certificate or citizenship of either of the parents. The students awaiting results can get provisional admissions. Once at the college, the admission team will assess the entry requirement mentioned below and assist in the admission process.
Applicants should be a minimum of 18 years of age and should possess the minimum qualifications mentioned hereunder.
For BA (Hons) International Business Management

Academic Level
Completion of HSEB +2 Qualification with an aggregate ≥ 45% or 1.8 CGPA*
2 ‘A’ Level subject passes with Grade E and above.
English
English HSEB XII Marks ≥ 45% or 1.8 GPA*
Pass in GP or English in A Levels
Applicants who do not meet the aforementioned English requirements can substitute with the following standardized English Tests:

IELTS overall band 4.5 with a minimum 4.5 in each band
Pearson Test of English (PTE) score above 37.
All other qualifications (CBSE, IB, AP, etc) are evaluated on a case-by-case basis by iAcademy and the University of Wolverhampton.
