About Universal College Of Medical Sciences
The Universal campus is situated at Bhairahawa, very close to the Indian City of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, which is only 1 ½ hour’s drive. It is located very close to the Indian border which is just 2 km from Sunauli the last destination of the Indian Border. Sunauli is accessible from Gorakhpur by road, which takes 2 hrs journey by car. By air, the Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu is well connected with all major cities, worldwide. The Universal College of Medical Sciences conducts the MBBS & BDS courses at Lumbini, the Lord’s own Land, where Gautam Buddha was born. The lush green, 120-acre UCMS campus has been equipped with all modern amenities required for certification and clearance from the Tribhuvan University, Nepal, Medical Council & Nepal Ministry of Education.
Facilities for running the Medical College like well-equipped Laboratories, modern Library, separate Hostels for boys and girls under the strict guidance of Wardens and 24 hours Security, availability of UCMS Teaching Hospital to the Students for Clinical teaching etc. have been effectively implemented by the Management, well in advance. The Administrative Office of the College at Kathmandu supervises all travel requirements and other facilities for the students and also their visitors. Lumbini, with its international reputation as a pilgrim centre, has excellent hotel facilities that will ensure a comfortable stay for the visitors. Indian, Chinese, Nepalese, Continental and a variety of other cuisines are served. Lumbini is geographically located in the Terai region that comprises of plain lands and the climate is comparable to that of the North Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi. During summer, the temperature could reach up to 40o C and in winter it falls to a minimum of 10o C. The management has made adequate arrangements in the College and Hostels to reckon with the climate conditions, including the provision of air-cooled and heated hostel rooms.

MBBS: Candidates are required to have passed their +2 examinations or A Level or I.Sc. or any other equivalent degree from any recognized board or university with a minimum 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology each. The Nepali candidates are required to pass the entrance examination conducted by the IOM, TU while the international candidates should abide by the norms of the university and/or governing bodies.
BDS: Candidates are required to have passed their +2 examinations or A level or I.Sc. or any other equivalent degree from any recognized board or university with a minimum score of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in aggregate.
B.Sc. MLT: The candidates should have passed the certificate level in Lab Medicine. The candidates who have cleared their +2 in Science (Biology Group) or equivalent degree are also eligible to apply for this degree. The eligible candidates are required to sit through an entrance examination covering the English Aptitude Test and Basic Health Sciences with a total of 100 marks for each subject. The candidates should score a minimum of 50% mark.
B. Pharma: The candidates seeking admission in B. Pharma academic course are required to have passed the certificate level in Pharmacy. Also, the students should have passed their 10+2 in Science (Biology Group) or any other equivalent degree with a minimum score of 50% from any recognized board or university. The candidates should not exceed 25 years of age during the time of the admission.
BMIT: The candidates should have passed certificate course level in Health Sciences in radiography. The students should have scored at least 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 in Science or equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in both theory and practical.
