With a single injection, the government has protected more than 43% of the target population from COVID-19.
As of today, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) reports that 8, 581,195 people (43.1%) were vaccinated with a single shot and 6, 500,463 (32.6%) with the full dose across the country.
According to the latest MoHP data, 23,568 vaccination doses were provided in the last 24 hours. On Thursday, the Ministry of Health confirmed 545 new COVID-19 cases, of which 470 were discovered by PCR tests and 75 through antigen tests.
COVID-19 tally by PCR method reached 807,522, while COVID-19 tally by antigen reached 93,771.
6,586 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests were performed in the last 24 hours, whereas 1,963 antigen testing were performed.
According to the Ministry of Health, there were 214 new infections in the Kathmandu Valley during that time. 147 cases in Kathmandu, 51 in Lalitpur, and 16 in Bhaktapur were confirmed.
According to the MoHP, there are more than 500 current instances in each of four districts: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, and Kaski. Mustang and Mugu districts, for example, have no ongoing cases, whereas 15 other districts each have over 200 active cases.
On Thursday, the active caseload dropped to 11,315 cases. On Wednesday, the figure was 11,579 people.
During that time, 726 COVID-19 patients recovered from the virus. Nepal has already documented 784,881 cases of recovery, with a 97.2 percent recovery rate. During that time, eight people died as a result of the disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 11,326. The death rate has dropped to 1.4 percent.
Pfizer vaccinations worth 100,620 doses are on their way. On October 25, Nepal will get 100,620 doses of Pfizer vaccinations from the COVAX facility. 100,620 doses of Pfizer vaccines will arrive in Kathmandu by October 25, according to Upendra Dhungana, Public Health Administrator for the Department of Health Services (DoHS).
The Pfizer vaccines, according to Dr. Bibek Kumar Lal, Director of the Department of Health Services’ Family Welfare Division, will be given to persons who have serious health problems. He stated that once the vaccines are received, they will be distributed to the country’s leading hospitals.
