725,000 Doses Of Covishield Vaccine Arrive

The COVAX facility has delivered an additional 725,000 doses of Covishield, an AstraZeneca type vaccine made by the Serum Institute of India.

It’s part of the UN-supported COVAX facility’s commitment to provide 6 million doses of the vaccine.

“We received 725,550 doses of Covishield from the COVAX facility,” said Upendra Dhungana, chief of the Department of Health Services’ Logistic Management Section. The vaccine’s second consignment, including 972,000 doses, is expected to arrive soon, according to Dhungana.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) reported 255 new COVID-19 cases. Two hundred and forty-five of them were discovered by PCR tests and ten through antigen tests.

The total number of people infected with COVID-19 in the United States was 821,366 by PCR and 95,498 by antigen testing. According to the MoHP, 4,329 of the 6,469 tests completed in the last 24 hours were Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR), while 2,140 were antigen testing.

On Tuesday, there were 6,931 active cases. 342 people have been admitted to various health facilities, while the remaining 6,589 have been placed in home isolation.

According to the most recent update, 116 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICUs) across the country, with 33 receiving ventilator support. During that time, 256 COVID-19 patients recovered from the virus.

There have already been 802,909 cases of recovery in Nepal.

In the previous 24 hours, two people have died in the country as a result of the sickness, bringing the total number of deaths to 11,526. As of today, COVID-19 has a recovery rate of 97.7% and a mortality rate of 1.4 percent.
