Committee Formed To Mark Prithvi Jayanti And National Unity Day

To commemorate the 300th Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day, a committee comprised of delegates from Nepal Academy, Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, and Cultural Corporation has been constituted.

A primary management committee led by Nepal Academy Chancellor Ganga Prasad Uprety was formed at a meeting held on Sunday at the Kamaladi-based Nepal Academy.

Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama Narayan Bhakta Shrestha ‘Rayan,’ Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts Kaanchha Kumar Karmacharya, Vice-chancellors of all three Academies (Jagman Gurung, Harihar Sharma, and Gopal Chitrakar), Secretaries of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama and the Academy of Fine Arts (Shyam Prakash Tamot and Bipin Ghimire), Cultural Corporation Chair Premn Prof Jagat Prasad Upadhyay, Secretary of the Nepal Academy, will act as the committee’s member-secretary.

According to the Academy, the meeting decided to hold a talk program on “participation of different communities in the national unification led by Prithvi Narayan Shah,” as well as a book exhibition, painting exhibition, cultural processions with bands, paying homage to the national unifier, and a cultural program on Prithvi Jayanti and national unity day.

According to information, a book and painting exhibition will be held on January 9, a talk program will be held on January 10, and cultural processions and programs will be held on January 11.
