When a landslide struck a house in Mellekh, Sayal rural municipality-6, two persons were killed. The landslip was caused by continuous rain for the past three days, and the victims were residents Sagar Kunjeda and Ashish Kunjeda.
The catastrophe occurred after a landslide hit the home of local Bir Bahadur Kunjeda, according to District Police Office joint-spokesperson and police inspector Rabindra Chand.
A team has been dispatched to collect the dead. The Office claims that the district’s communications system has been affected by the constant rain, and it is difficult to obtain information about weather-related losses in various parts of the district.
Meanwhile, in Dadeldhura, a landslide from above the house at Bhatkada of Ganyapdhura rural municipality-1 buried a person.
Bishnu Awasthi, 32, has been named as the victim by the District Police Office. Due to the interrupted telecommunications network and power supply system, the Office has been unable to acquire information about the disaster’s losses in other parts of the district.
A landslide in Amargadhi municipality-1 also injured two persons, who are being hospitalized at the Dadeldhura Hospital. The District Administration has urged everyone to be on the lookout for potential calamities when river levels rise, triggering flooding in surrounding settlements.
