Employing Nepali Nurses In UK

The first formal meeting between Nepal and the United Kingdom on giving career prospects for Nepali nurses in the United Kingdom will take place tomorrow, Friday.

The task teams constituted by the governments of the two friendly countries are expected to begin a formal debate on Friday over how to send Nepali nurses to the UK, according to Dandu Raj Ghimire, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.

In response to the UK government’s letter on the subject, the Nepalese government proposed to the UK government that task groups from both nations begin a conversation.

The UK has constituted a task team led by an officer at the British Embassy in Nepal in response to the government of Nepal’s proposal.

From the Nepalese side, Rajib Pokharel, joint secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, would lead the task group for the talks.

The length of the contract, the workers’ pay and benefits, and the procedures of selection will all be discussed.

According to Ghimire, if the conversation results in a positive outcome, the UK will outsource nurses from Nepal.
