The government has organized a committee to determine a suitable location for a teachers’ hospital, which the government intends to open this year. From the current government’s replacement law, the government has chosen to build a hospital for teachers.
The government has constituted a five-member committee, which will be coordinated by Dr. Bimal Chalise, in accordance with the ruling.
Rather than establishing a specialized hospital, some teachers and others have requested that other general hospitals be established. A five-member committee has been constituted for effective land management, according to Ram Prasad Thapaliya, secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
Teachers and staff members make up the group, according to Secretary Thapaliya, and they have two months to select suitable site.
According to secretary Thapaliya, the committee would hunt for land in the country’s major cities, including Kathmandu, Butwal, Biratnagar, and Chitwan.
The establishment of a teachers’ hospital is projected to help more than 300,000 teachers across the country.
Meanwhile, stakeholders are split on whether or not a certain hospital should be built.
Rather than establishing a specialized hospital, some teachers and others have requested that other general hospitals be established.
However, Laxmi Kishore Subedi, general secretary of the Teachers’ Federation, has praised the government’s decision to build a hospital because the country has a big number of teachers.
The establishment of the hospital is one of the teachers’ federation’s 34 points of demand.
