Kathmandu DAO asks not to run physical classes in view of the COVID-19 threat

The Kathmandu District Administration Office has asked educational institutions not to conduct physical education classes.

The DAO issued a seven-point notice on Thursday, asking schools to communicate with their respective metropolises and municipalities if physical classes are required. This comes as schools and universities across the Kathmandu Valley prepare to begin offering physical education sessions on Friday.

The DAO has issued an order for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, which will take effect on September 17. According to the DAO, people are not allowed to go out unnecessarily and celebrate holidays by gathering large crowds.

Local transportation will also be permitted only between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Those who break the order will face consequences, according to the Kathmandu DAO.
