Cleaning staffers stopped their work in Pokhara- Manipal teaching hospital which is situated in Pokhara has shut down its services from Sunday following protests by hospital staffers. A notice was issued for the staffers to resume their work. But the staffers refused to resume their work until demand are fulfilled. On the same day, the chief executive officer, B.M.Nagpal, issued a notice stating that the hospital was compelled to halt its services due to sanitation reason after the employees resorted to strike, which he termed as illegal.
More than 132 staffs of the hospital from cleaning department has stopped their work for their demand like availability of boots, aprons, mask, gloves, glasses, safety belt, stairs and safety training. Now the hospital management is holding talks with the workers association at the district administration office in Kaski.
