National Cricket Academy on Saturday announced a training program for SLC graduates and tenegers aged 18 or below. According former national team captain and coach of National Cricket Academy Binod Das, the training program will begin by the end of next week.
National Cricket Academy, which was established by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on the initiative of national team coach Pubudu Dassanayake, has been running free training camps for under-12 schoolchildren every Saturday since January.
Cricketers Deependra Chaudhary, Raju Basnet, Kalam Ali, Neera Rajopadhyay and Binu Budha Magar along with Das have been looking after the U-12 training program participated by around 500 schoolchildren.
“The huge participation in the U-12 program encouraged us to launch another program for SLC graduates” said Das.
According to Das, NCA will charge Rs 5,000 per student for participating in the SLC graduates training program and Rs. 100 will be the form charge. During the training, students will be taught cricketing lessons, physical fitness as well as art of living.
The NCA, led by Dassanayake, also includes senior Nepali coach Jagat Tamata. NCA had established its regional branch in Dhangadhi last month and accredited Dhangadhi Cricket Academy run by the locals.
