Lonely Planet, a well-known travel guidebook publisher, has ranked Nepal as one of the top ten places to visit in 2022.
Nepal is placed eighth out of ten countries in the book, with Mustang, the district beyond the Himalayas, receiving special notice.
The magazine’s choice is described as follows in a CNN piece showing the top ten picks: “It is practically hard to discuss Nepal without talking about Mount Everest.” But this Himalayan country has a lot more to offer visitors who aren’t interested in climbing the world’s highest mountain.”
“Trekkers may explore the high desert and meet villagers at homestays along the way, eating on Nepali specialties like coffee with yak butter and momos served “kothey” style,” the story continues.
The Cook Islands, in the South Pacific, top the Lonely Planet ranking, followed by Norway at number two.
The top five include Mauritius, Belize, and Slovenia. Anguilla, Oman, Malawi, and Egypt are ranked six, seven, nine, and ten, respectively, in the second part of the list.
