Following the discovery of a COVID-19 case, a school in Baitadi has been closed for the second time.
On December 3, a tenth-grader at Bhumishwor Secondary School in Patan municipality-4 tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the school to close for three days starting December 5.
The second case was confirmed on Tuesday, according to instructor Sushila Bhandari, and the school has been shuttered until December 11. The school was shuttered for contract tracking and other essential steps, according to the school.
The school has reported four active COVID-19 cases to date, all of which are from the Patan area.
Following the discovery of the ‘Omicron version’ in neighboring India, residents in the district have been encouraged to take precautions against the virus.
COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 18 people in the Sudurpaschim Province area so far.
