Slingshot Updated By Facebook With Unlimited Reactions

Slingshot, Facebook photo messaging app, which was released last month was updated on Thursday with new creative features. Now with the updated version of the app, the users are able to experience a whole lot of things. The users are now able to react to the messages.

Its somewhat of a departure from Slingshot’s signature “shot-for-shot” dynamic. The signature “shot-for-shot” dynamic is going to be removed. Before this, the users were able to view a message only with the help of a single reaction, without having to send their own first. But after the updated version of the app, all this is about to change. While this still applies to regular messages (users are still required to “unlock” new slings with replies), users can now exchange an unlimited number of reaction messages.

The changes might now seem somewhat not much special but this step was really required for this app, which has been really facing difficulties to attract the customers. They have allowed the users to send reactions to reactions. Facebook have completely departed and prohibited to use the signature “shot-for-shot” dynamic which they think have been the result of doubtful use of low users. And they think that it contributed for the lackluster performance of the app and failed to garner attention.

The update also improved the process for adding friends with a new “My People” tab that displays all your friends — both from Facebook and your contacts — in one list. Users can also send messages to contacts who don’t currently have the app via text message

Facebook mobile’s recent effort has been to improve and update the Snapchat-like messaging apps. Facebook-owned Instagram debut Bolt, its new photo messaging app that combines features from both Snapchat and Slingshot, in three countries earlier this week. The app will be coming to the US and the rest of the world “soon.”
