The British College (TBC) will offer the BSc (Hons) in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics in November, as part of its comprehensive range of computing degrees.
The University of the West of England (UWE) is offering this fresh new course, which has acquired authorisation from the Engineering Council and the British Computer Society to operate it in the UK. It will now be delivered here at TBC, Nepal’s sole BAC-accredited college.
The epidemic has resulted in a huge increase in internet users in Nepal, raising the danger of cybercrime as a result. The impact of this is visible in the increased frequency of high-level security breaches, and as a result, TBC has identified a growing demand for professional cyber security and digital forensics graduates.
As a result, they’ve established a curriculum that will be taught by a strong team of academic and industry specialists and is aimed at being one of the College’s highest-ranking degrees for graduate employment, preparing students for careers in computer security and computer crime investigation.
The course will teach students how to utilize the right tools to investigate computer-based activities, such as installing tools and procedures to avoid security breaches and investigate the misuse of computers and other devices.
“This course will contribute to Nepal’s objective of Digital Transformation by making high-quality courses a cheap and accessible opportunity for everyone in the country,” said Arun Joshi, the head of the program and Associate Dean of the College.
“Along with the new course, we are establishing a fresh new lab to guarantee that our students have access to the most up-to-date facilities,” he added.
“There is currently a high demand for this degree, therefore we are thrilled to be launching admissions for this November intake,” said Amardeep Mandal, head of marketing at The British College. Graduates of the course will also be entitled to apply for a post-study work visa, allowing them to complete their last year of studies in the UK.”
