On Sunday, Jyapu Samaj Yala celebrated ‘Yomari Punhi,’ a renowned Newar festival, with a variety of cultural events.

Jyapu Samaj Yala has been organizing ‘Yomari Tyo Chi Tyo Punhi’ for the past two decades.
Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, representatives from all 40 toles brought Kibwa (rice, yomori, fruits, and cash) from their different locations and presented it to Jyapu Society delegates with cultural performances such as dance and singing.
Pampha Bhushal, Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, asked for the celebration to bring wealth, health, and success.
Ministers of Federal Affairs and General Administration Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Shashi Shrestha, and Minister for Labour and Employment Krishna Kumar Shrestha all expressed their best wishes during the program presided over by Tirthalal Maharjan.
