Because no big crime or unlawful occurrence occurred in the Kathmandu Valley during theĀ Dashain holiday, the Valley has been relatively tranquil and safe for the past ten days, according to Nepal Police.

Only a few minor public offenses such as thefts, burglaries, brawls, gambling, suicides, minor road accidents, and fires occurred in the recent ten days, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Sushil Singh Rathour and Spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari.

Nobody was killed in a road collision during the celebration, according to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division in Ramshahpath. According to SP Sanjib Sharma Das, the MTPD’s spokesperson, no serious road accidents have occurred in the Valley in the last week.



The Traffic Division has dispatched officers from the Valley’s 43 traffic police units to conduct both surprise and routine vehicle checks. Targeting the Dashain celebration, the Traffic Police set up 14 passenger support desks in various locations, including New Bus Park in Gangabu.

In the last 10 days, the Metro Police have detained 63 gamblers and seized Rs. 1,093,000 in cash, as well as 157 minor road accidents with no serious injuries or deaths, 18 theft cases, 13 suicides by hanging, 19 brawls, four arson cases, one rape case, two burglaries, three knife and sharp weapon attacks, and 12 community-based brawls.

Metro Police had launched Dashain special security plan from September 17 by deploying 3,271 security personnel.

During the festival, picket patrols were stationed in 61 locations, with morning and evening patrols in 60 others, according to SP Rathour.

In addition, 48 mobile patrols were deployed in the morning and night, 35 bicycle patrols, 83 fast response teams, 30 search and seal teams, 30 others for area seals and ambushing, and CRV and cross checking in 46 locations.

According to him, checkpoints were put up at 36 locations every day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
