In khotang on July 23 notorious ‘serial killer’, accused of murdering women after robbing them of their valuables, has landed into police net, finally.
Gyanendra rai is accused of looting four women in Khotang, Udayapur and Sunsari districts and subsequently smothering them to death to destroy evidences But the police who targeted women, mostly aged, walking through quiet roads, from Triyuga-2 of Udayapur district on Saturday. He was paraded amidst a press conference at District Police Office on Wednesday. Rai, along with his confederates, murdered Sabitra Magar, 61, of Pokhariya-8 of Udayapur district on May 21, Bhairmaya Rai of Bamrang-5 on June 12 and Jeet Sobha, 65, of Itahari Municipality-2 on June 24 and made off with their ornaments and cash,DSP Govinda Shah inform that he murdered Narmanda dhakal, 44, of Bijayakharka and decamped with gold ornaments, RS5, 000 in cash and a mobile set on July 13.
